Highlights from the SFDC Austin User Group session
I am speaking in a session this year at Dreamforce entitled The Social Enterprise: Now What?. The general premise of the session is after the contracts are signed, integration is complete and Salesforce is deployed in your organization….what do you do now?
I’ve been working on my slides the past couple of days and I find it hard to condense my advice to a 7 minute overview. I’ll most likely speak in generalities, however I’ve organized my speaker notes into what I hope you all will find interesting.
With a projected 70,000+ attendees, Dreamforce 12 is going to provide something for everyone. Whether you are new to Dreamforce this year or a 5 year veteran, attending a conference this large can be challenging at times. I’ve outlined my advice for getting the most out of Dreamforce:
- Networking Events, Parties, Happy Hours
- Travel Light
- Mobile Apps
- Power Up

What would you do differently if you were deploying SFDC today?
Reviewing the lesson’s learned from a successful (or not) project always yields some insights that can be used for future projects. I was not around during my company’s initial deployment of Salesforce.com, but I have lived with the repercussions of the decisions made by that team. This post outlines my thoughts on what I would do differently, from an end user adoption enablement perspective, if I was part of another large scale(20-30k seat), global deployment of Salesforce.com.
The size and location of your internal SFDC user base definitely factors into any enablement planning, but these three focus areas are applicable to any size org.
- Personify your end users
- Use multiple communications streams
- Functional vs. Strategic training
